Welcome to my portfolio!
My name is Anna Lee, and I am currently a Senior in the English Secondary Education program at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. I am also pursuing an endorsement in ESL, and hope that my understanding and appreciation for different languages will help my students embrace and accept diversity in the classroom.
I would like to teach high school English in a district where I am able to plant energy and passion for the English language in the students I teach. I believe that the way we approach a text oftentimes parallels the way we perceive our world. By observing, analyzing, and interpreting literature, we also learn to observe, analyze, and interpret the things around us. It is with this understanding that I want to help my students develop their creative and imaginative minds in the classroom. In the end, I hope that literature and writing can serve as vital learning tools to shape their perception outside of the classroom, as well.
